Tumalo Creek

Make the most of your last day in town with a relaxing day spent at Tumalo Creek nearby the Old Mill District. You can find rental shops full of your favorite boats, including kayaks, canoes, paddle boards, and rafts. Join a river tour or simply enjoy the water at your own leisure.

Seventh Mountain River Company

Can’t decide what to do? Give Seventh Mountain River Company a call. They’ll have something you and your gang will be interested in, from whitewater and calm water rafting tours on the Deschutes River, SUP and kayak tours (and rentals), and even ice skating under a disco ball in winter months. And for those in your group tired of the water and hiking along mountain trails, there’s mountain bike rentals, mini golf, disc golf and an outdoor music venue.

Bend Whitewater Park

River bodyboarding and surfing, tubing. whitewater paddleboarding and kayaking—you can do it all without ever leaving downtown Bend! Near the Old Mill District on the Deschutes River is a city-owned waterpark offering a variety of river-centric activities. The river has been split into three separate channels, with two channels focusing on recreational water activities and the third channel strictly for nature with no public access.

The first channel, the Fish Ladder, has rapids that add a little excitement to your river ride, and the Whitewater Channel has four wave features for those whitewater lovers of all skill levels. The ecologically sensitive Habitat Channel has been left to nature, as a way of protecting the river and local wildlife habitat. Bend Whitewater Park is open daily from 5am until 10pm and you can find out more at the city’s Park & Recreation website here.

Fly Fishing

If your dreams are filled with hooking your first steelhead, or if you love the sight of a sparkling rainbow trout on the end of your line, all you need to do is book a guided trip with one of the area’s knowledgeable fishing guides. Bend is a fly fishing paradise (there’s great fishing year round!) with beautiful still water lakes and roaring rivers filled with rainbow trout, brown trout, brookies, salmon, steelhead and more. Book a guided trip to Cascade Lake, East Lake, Crooked River, Fall River, the Deschutes River, and more for a day trip or half-day trip.
