Plan an Epicurean Journey To Bend

HomeJourney to Bend OregonPlan an Epicurean Journey To Bend

Every vacation deserves a trip to the many dining establishments found around the town you are staying in. Luckily, Bend, Oregon is a true epicurean destination for foodies looking to indulge their appetites. Here is what to look forward to when you explore Bend dining:

Spork

Experience the culinary magic at Spork, a globally-inspired eatery with dishes from all over the world. Their green sensibility allows them to use locally foraged ingredients and humanely raised meats for truly decadent meals. Each entrée is inspired by the culinary arts from Latin America, Asia, Africa, and more.

Joolz

Get a little bit funky and delicious with the Lebanese fusion dishes at Joolz. This local establishment uses the best in rich flavors and different spices to create unique dishes not found anywhere else. Novices and experienced epicureans will also enjoy the knowledgeable staff who can guide you on your food journey at Joolz.

McKay Cottage Restaurant

Every traveler needs their go-to breakfast and brunch spot for a decadent meal to start your day. McKay Cottage Restaurant has perfected the art of breakfast at their elegant establishment in Bend. Enjoy classic favorites such as the crepes, stuffed croissant, French toast with mascarpone, and more. You will probably find a wait on the weekends, but it is worth the time for a wonderful meal.

Crux Fermentation Project

Get a delicious meal along with micro-brewery craft beers at Crux Fermentation Project. This local favorite has been voted as one of the top breweries in Bend, which is already a brewery capital for the Pacific Northwest. Their creative sandwiches can easily be paired with any of their handcrafted brews. Check out Crux Fermentation Project for great food and drinks.

900 Wall

Established in 2009, 900 Wall is located in a historic brick building in the heart of downtown Bend. High ceilings, lots of windows and exposed brick walls with the dark wood floors give 900 Wall plenty of atmosphere. There are great appetizers (try the fried green beans), salads and pizzas on the menu, but you’ll be focusing on the entrees. You can’t go wrong with an order of their popular shrimp risotto. Grab your friends and head over for happy hour or an enjoyable dinner.

Ariana Restaurant

Located in one of Bend’s cute bungalows since 2004, the Ariana’s seasonal menu offers classic dishes with a contemporary twist, using fresh, local ingredients. The chic black and white interiors are warmed by the wood floor and serve as a back drop to one of Bend’s finer dining establishments. We suggest ordering the chef’s five course tasting menu. Or order a la carte and enjoy appetizers like luscious Bone Marrow or Carpaccio and entrees like their mouthwatering Osso Bucco.

The Blacksmith

The Blacksmith gets its name from the historic blacksmith shop where it’s located. This high-end steakhouse is a downtown fine dining establishment with great ambiance that’s the perfect place for an anniversary or special celebratory dinner. Split the customer favorite Tomahawk Ribeye or try the Surf & Turf and enjoy a grilled fillet with scallops, jumbo shrimp, and Dungeness crab. Leave room for dessert or a dessert cocktail.

Pine Tavern

The Pine Tavern has been an institution in downtown Bend since 1936. The front of this casual establishment overlooks Oregon Avenue, while the back features a lovely patio with views of Mirror Pond. Pine is famous for their hot sourdough scones served with honey butter as well as the huge Ponderosa pine tree growing smack dab in the middle of the dining room. This is comfort food done right, and it’s the perfect place to unwind after a long day of skiing or hiking. Order their “famous” Prime Rib dinner for two (along with a bottle of pinot noir) for take-out every Friday and Saturday night to enjoy in front of your own fireplace. And there’s Happy Hour all day!

Zydeco Kitchen & Cocktails

Zydeco likes to call its menu “Northwestern cuisine with a Southern twist”, and there’s plenty of the south here. Start with the House Trout Dip, then move on to the Vegetable Risotto, Shrimp Andouille and Crawfish Jambalaya, Roasted Duck Breast, or the popular Filet Au Poivre. Zydeco prides themselves on using hormone and pesticide free organic ingredients, and they offer a full gluten-free menu too. They also offer their dry-rub for sale, as well as made-in-house dog biscuits (for your furry best friends).
