Easter in Bend Oregon

HomeBend for the HolidaysEaster in Bend Oregon

If you are looking for one of the best times of the year without crowds in the area, look no further than enjoying Easter in Bend Oregon. While this holiday may not be the busiest travel season, Bend still makes sure to bring on the fun and excitement with a variety of activities to enjoy. Here is how to spend Easter in Bend:

Go Egg Hunting

Ask any child what they enjoy most about Easter and they are sure to tell you it’s Easter egg hunting. Let them become egg hunting sleuths at several egg hunts found around the city. Wildhorse Harley Davison hosts their free annual Easter egg hunt over at Vince Genna Stadium. Across two hunts—one for children ages 6 and under and one for those 7 and up—20,000 Easter eggs are available to be found. Other activities include local vendors, bouncy houses, games, and more.

Another popular Easter egg hunt can be found at one of several community parks sponsored by New Hope Church. These afternoon egg hunts can be found at local parks such as Larkspur Park, Pine Ridge Park, and Boyd Park. Act quick because these hunts are only available from 3:00pm to 4:00pm each year!

Avoid the crowds and have your own Easter Egg Hunt right at your rental! Many of our vacation rentals feature large backyards with plenty of lawn and landscaping to hide those colorful eggs. Your kids will appreciate not having to fight the crowds for that special egg surprise and you won’t have to worry about getting them there in time. If the weather turns (as it does sometimes here in Bend during springtime) stay inside, light the fire and let the kids loose. Our spacious rentals have plenty of room and plenty of hiding spots for colorful Easter eggs, candy, and chocolate treats. And don’t worry if you forgotten anything – you can pick up what you need, from pretty baskets filled with that bright green plastic grass to that special chocolate bunny, in downtown Bend on Saturday. Grab a few truffles or craft chocolates for yourself at Seahorse Chocolate or Oregon Craft Chocolatiers. And the Sweet Tooth Candy Shoppe is sure to have that special candy for each of your kids.

Find Your Easter Service

Easter is an important religious holiday to many travelers in Bend. You can find the perfect Easter service during your stay at one of the many churches in the city. Finding these worship centers is as easy as searching online.

If you can’t find a suitable church service, have your own service. Just grab your flashlight and head downtown for a climb up Pilot Butte, where you can watch the first rays of sunlight spilling over nearby mountain peaks. You can have your own private Easter service while you watch the sun rise. Or, if you’ve rented one of our rustic lodges perched on the mountain side, start your Easter celebrations outside as you watch the sunrise from the comfort of your own deck, mimosa, or coffee mug in hand. Then head inside for a livestreamed service of your choice. FoxNews usually streams several Easter Masses including the Vatican and Washington’s National Cathedral.

Grab an Easter Brunch in Bend Oregon

There is no better time to enjoy brunch than Easter weekend. Many local establishments host a special Easter brunch in Bend Oregon with mouthwatering food. Enjoy a view of the Deschutes River with the Riverhouse Easter Brunch Buffet. Their special event includes delicious pastries, scones, fresh seafood, omelets, waffles, carved meats, and much more. If Riverhouse is already full, check out the Oxford Hotel for their incredible display of treats. Brunch is always a popular pastime in Bend, so make sure to book ahead with a reservation at any local establishment on Easter weekend.

Want to avoid the crowds and have a quieter, family Easter brunch? Order a full meal as take-out, then dine al fresco out on the deck while you enjoy the view. Or order locally sourced steaks or pork chops to grill out on your deck. Make a stop at one of the local meat markets like Primal Cuts Meat Market or The Meat Locker and you’ll be set. Find prepared foods as well as your choice of fresh meats like dry-aged ribeyes, duck, ribs, lamb, rabbit and more. Order online and pick up at your leisure or browse their products in person. And don’t forget to get some house-made sausage and fresh cut bacon to start the day out right. The fully equipped kitchen in your rental makes it easy to cook a traditional Easter brunch or warm up that take-out meal.
