Cycle Pub in Bend

HomeBend AttractionsCycle Pub in Bend

If you’re looking to experience the very best in Oregon culture, you absolutely must try Cycle Pub in Bend! It doesn’t get any more Oregonian than this: a huge group bicycle that doubles as a pub. You’ll have to see it to believe it!

Big Bikes and Small Bikes

Cycle Pub is operated only as private group tours, so you’ll need a group of at least four to experience it. Sorry, they don’t sell individual tickets, and you can’t just hop aboard if you see it cruising around. All rides require advance reservations, and tours last two hours. Most riders will need to pedal, though the Big Bike, with seating for up to 14 guests, has a few non-pedaling seats. But you’ll need 8 people to do the legwork! Smaller groups are welcome to ride the Small Bike (also known as Cycle Round), which fits 4 to 6 people. These unique bike vehicles come equipped with cupholders (of course) and stereo systems, as well as a professional Bike Pilot and guide (who obviously will not be drinking).

Where Would You Like to Go?

The choice is up to you and your group! While a pub crawl or trip down the Bend Ale Trail is the obvious choice, it doesn’t have to be all about alcohol. There are many great places to visit in downtown Bend, including family-friendly destinations. Riders must be a minimum of 12 years of age, and if any in the party are under 21, there cannot be any consumption of alcohol aboard the bike. Our professional Bike Pilots will help you customize your itinerary when you check in for your tour, so you don’t need to make the plan yourself in advance. Let them know what types of attractions you’d like to see! If you do decide to go on the Ale Trail, be prepared to taste a plethora of beers with unique flavors and consistencies.

Things to Do on the Trail and Nearby

With more breweries per capita than any other town in the state of Oregon, Bend is known as BeerTown, USA. If you prefer the grape to the hop, you will find a winery or two on this magnificent trail.

You will be provided with a passport which you can get stamped at each brewery. If you get 10 stamps you can send your passport into The Bend Visitors Center and they will give you a Silipint, which is a silicone beer mug. If you get 18 stamps, the center will send you a bottle opener. You don’t have to have a beer at every location; you will get a stamp so long as you visit a brewery.

You can stop By Bend Brewing Company for a can of Tropical Pines or a Camp Beer. Have a can of Special Sauce at Good Life Brewing or enjoy a glass of Warfighter Pale Ale at Three Creeks Brewing.

The Ale Trail is right near the Old Mill District, where you will find shops, art galleries, and restaurants. Be sure to stop by Nashelle where you can find jewelry made from recycled materials, or Vanilla Urban Threads, where you can find an eclectic mix of unique clothing styles.

Enjoy the fish at Boxwood Kitchen or forget your diet at Flatbread Neapolitan Pizzeria.

“Anything Goes?” Not Exactly…

While Cycle Pub can definitely be a great party, it’s not quite a free-for-all aboard the bike. In fact, due to stringent licensing requirements, there are some specific rules that riders must abide by in order to enjoy the ride safely. Only certain types of drinking vessels are allowed (obviously no glass), no hard liquor is permitted on-board, and no consumption of cannabis products is allowed either.

Check the website for a detailed list of what to bring (and not bring), as well as make sure to plan for safe transportation of your group after your tour is over. Whether you’re in town to host your wedding, for a family reunion or even on your honeymoon, everyone will love this exciting activity! Consider staying in a great downtown Bend vacation rental, so you’ll be able to walk home.
