The Blacksmith Restaurant

You are visiting Bend, Oregon and you are looking for a place with good old fashion meat and potatoes, strong drinks, and a relaxing atmosphere where you and your family can kick back and talk about your day. There are more than a few steakhouses in Bend, but one of the best is The Blacksmith Restaurant.

The Blacksmith is located in the historic Pierson Blacksmith Shop, where Bend resident Joe Egg repaired all things made of iron for fifty years. The restaurant maintains a vintage look and the menu puts a contemporary spin on traditional American cuisine.

Cocktail Menu at The Blacksmith Restaurant

The bar offers top shelf liquors, beer and wine. There are some inventive spins on traditional cocktails such as a Peach Lemon Drop that contains peach vodka, peach nectar, and of course, lemon juice. The Manhattan Flight offers your choice of either a bourbon or whiskey combined with three different kinds of house-made bitters. The drinks are served in mini martini glasses with cherries.

Appetizers

The bar menu at The Blacksmith Restaurant offers a variety of fries, including polenta, regular, and truffle. If you like a little ruffage with your booze, there are a few fantastic salads on the menu, including a robust and nutritious beet salad and a crispy Caesar salad with polenta croutons and vegetarian tamarind dressing. There are also burgers, crab, and a variety of mac and cheese dishes. Dinner appetizers include an eclectic cheese plate and a shrimp cocktail served with a red curry paste.

Main courses

The restaurant serves many steak dishes, the most popular of which include steak and fries and a signature black Tomahawk that come with a baked potato and two side choices.

If steak is not your thing, there is also a tasty salmon served with Oscar sauce and green vegetables. If you are dining with vegetarians, the chef offers a nightly pasta special.

Desserts

If you still have room after all that, the reason The Blacksmith is one of the top restaurants in Bend Oregon is because the menu offers some great sweets. Be sure to try the Tableside Fostered Bananas Split, which tops banana bread with ice cream, bananas and rum caramel sauce. They also have a rich brownie sundae with chocolate ganache and caramel sauce.
