Downtown Bend houses an assortment of award-winning, household name breweries, collectively known as the Bend Ale Trail. Among these amazing breweries is Boneyard Beer, a small, unfussy brewery making it’s home inside of an old auto shop. Read on to find out more about why Boneyard Brewery deserves a spot on your list of attractions to see in Bend!
Palate-Pleasing Craft Beer in a Laid-Back Atmosphere
At Boneyard Brewery, the brewery places an emphasis on maintaining a collection of hoppy yet well-balanced beers on tap. The owner purchased secondhand brewing equipment to brew their in-house beers—a “boneyard” of equipment from breweries around the country.
Boneyard Beer has seventeen of their own craft brews available in-house, and they’re only adding more to the list. Try creatively named beers like Hop a Wheelie IPA, amber Diablo Rojo, and the Imperial Cascadian dark ale Armored Fist. Try the India Session ale Skin N Bones, or indulge in the rich coffee and chocolate stout Backbone. Or enjoy the West Coast-style pale ale Bone-A-Fide and the sour and fruity Femme Fatale. Beers like Notorious IPA are ideal for those looking to get the most bang for their buck at 11.5% ABV. Coupled with notes of citrus, grapefruit, honey, and pine amongst strong hops, it is an outstanding drink!
Not only can you try the fantastic craft beer that Boneyard Beer has to offer, but you can also purchase a variety of men’s and women’s outerwear, glassware, hats, and souvenir items all emblazoned with Boneyard Beer’s logo as a gift for someone back home or a souvenir of your time in Bend. There are plenty of activities and Bend things to do!
The only drawbacks of Boneyard Beer are that tours of the brewery are not available, nor are bottles or cans of the brewery’s beer. In short, if you want to try some of Boneyard Beer’s delectable brews, you’ll just have to visit them at their location in Old Bend! The brewery’s address is 37 NW Lake Pl., Bend, OR 97701. You can also reach them by phone at (541) 323-2325, or by email at info@boneyardbeer.com.
