Bend Love Dogs
Locals like to boast that Bend has one of the highest per capita dog populations anywhere, and with over 49% of Bend residents owning a dog, they may be right! There are over 51 urban trail miles in town for you and your furry friend to hike, and over 13 off-leash park areas in the city too. Since you don’t have time to spare, grab a copy of the Bend Urban Trails map so you can easily find all the dog-friendly spots.
Everywhere you look there are happy dogs with their happy owners. Bend is the perfect vacation spot for anyone who loves the outdoors (including dogs). A few of the dog-friendly hikes to try are the Metolius River Trail (an easy, 12-mile hike in the Deschutes National Forest, along the river), the Todd Lake Trail, and the Deschutes River Trail (another easy 8.5-mile hike in the Deschutes National Forest). Each trail has plenty of splashing opportunities for you and your dog. Your dog can have fun in winter too at Wanoga, Edison, and Kapka Sno-Parks, where there are dog-friendly cross-country ski and snowshoe trails. There’s the Bend Pet Parade every July 4th, and of course the Wiener Dog Races at Octoberfest!
There are several area dog parks where your furry companion can run around off-leash with new friends. Riverbend Beach Dog Park is a fully fenced, off-leash park and beach. Pine Nursery Park is a fenced, off-leash area too, with paved and unpaved trails and free poop bags! If you’re skiing or playing around on Mt. Bachelor, you can safely leave your four-legged baby at their Dog Park.
Pet-Friendly Pubs and More
Bend has plenty of dog-friendly restaurants and brewpubs where you and your furry friend can relax and enjoy a cool beverage after a long, hard day of hiking through Smith Rock or the Newberry Volcanic Monument. Good spots are 10 Barrel Brewing, Deschutes Brewery, McMenamins Old St. Francis School, Crux Fermentation Project, Bend Brewing Co, and Bangers & Brew.
Short-Term Doesn’t Mean Short on Amenities
All of our vacation rentals Bend Oregon pet-friendly feature the same amenities and standard features, whether you’re staying for a weekend or several months at a time. Standard amenities include fully equipped kitchens with modern appliances (including that all-important coffee maker) and lots of counter space. There’s free Wi-Fi and cable so you can keep up with the office if you need to, and the kids can keep up with their favorite programs.
Many of our rentals feature private garages and off-street parking so you don’t have to waste precious time hunting for a parking space; you can just pull right on up to your rental’s door. We have vacation rentals with separate gear storage too, and even RV parking spaces and charging.
If you’re visiting us during summer months, we have rentals with AC, and for those chilly mountain nights, our rentals have indoor fireplaces to keep you toasty and warm. Time for s’mores and hot chocolate! Be sure to rent a vacation home with a fire pit or outdoor fireplace so you can snuggle up and stargaze at the same time. For serious stargazers, there are two observatories within a half-hour of Bend – The Pine Mountain Observatory and the Oregon Observatory at the Sunriver Nature Center (which has the largest collection of telescopes for public use in the country)!
Hot tubs, outdoor grills, and washer/dryers are just a few more amenities you can find as you browse through our listings. Rent one of our modern condos and you’ll be able to enjoy all the condo community’s extras too, like swimming pools, tennis courts and on-site fitness centers.
Our vacation rentals Bend Oregon pet-friendly feature large backyards perfect for letting the dogs (and kids) play and run until they drop. Many of our pet-friendly rentals are private homes with fenced-in yards and courtyards for your pet’s (and small child’s) safety.
Wide Variety of Vacation Rentals
From cute cottages and alpine lodges to modern condos and lakefront villas, our listings offer a wide variety of vacation rentals. Rent one of our riverfront and lakefront rentals and you and your dog can enjoy fun in the water without even leaving your rental.
