Read on below for some of our favorites!

High Desert Museum

Explore the art, wildlife, culture, and the living local history of Oregon at the High Desert Museum. This year come and see Animal Journeys: Navigating in Nature, Desert Reflections: Water Shapes the West, and Moon Country: Oregon and the Space Race. General admission is $17, students/seniors are $14, and children are $10.

Wicked DIY Candle Lounge

This is one of the more creative ways you can fill an afternoon while on vacation. Come and create your own one-of-a-kind candle! Pick your mold, color, and style, then plan your design. Everything is up to you, and kids as young as 5 can participate in the fun too. The candles you make will be ready the next morning for pick-up. Prices here are only $5 per candlemaker per day, while the prices of the candles themselves vary.

Vector Volcano

While away the afternoon at a good old-fashioned arcade. Vector Volcano has all the classic arcade and pinball machines from the 80s and 90s. They take special care to keep everything in mint condition so you can enjoy these games as they were enjoyed in their heyday. This arcade is open to minors, but also serves craft beer for the adults! All-day tickets for unlimited playtime are $15, or you can get in for an hour for only $5.

Tower Theatre

This iconic theatre in the heart of downtown Bend is almost 80 years old. Enjoy both classics and modern hits this summer with shows ranging from Muppets in Space to Rogue One. Concerts play here as well, so make sure to check the calendar for your visit to Bend. See what’s playing, because chances are, you won’t want to miss it! Ticket prices vary depending on the show.

Mountain Trampoline Park

You’ll want to set aside an entire morning or afternoon for Mountain Trampoline Park. This is an endlessly amusing indoor recreation experience that the entire family will love. There’s no age limit on fun. Ticket prices are $12 for 1 hour, $17 for 1.5 hours, and $20 for 2 hours. Note: If you love discounts, head in for Kid’s Night Out on the 1st and 3rd Friday of every month for 3 hours of jump time at only $24, which also includes pizza, drinks, and games!

Bend 4th of July Celebration

The year is whizzing by, and before you know it, it’ll be July 4th. Where should you be celebrating this year? Nowhere other than Bend, Oregon! This is an area that’s off the beaten path, for a cozy Bend 4th of July celebration unlike any other.

Pet Parade & Festival

This is an old-fashioned Bend tradition that has been going on since 1932 and is hosted by the city. A truly family-friendly event, everyone will have fun watching the pet parade and all of its adorable critters, from dogs to farm animals. There are over 8,000 participants and spectators to this wacky parade! There’s also lots of live music and games to play. This festival lasts from 11am to 4pm, so it is a great way to fill up some daylight hours before you head elsewhere for the fireworks.

Deschutes Historical Museum

At the Deschutes Historical Museum, they’ll be offering not only free admission on the 4th, but even free ice cream! Hurry over there early to snag a cone before they run out. While there, you’ll love looking at the exhibits on display, that show the entire history of the greater Bend, Oregon area. You may find out things you’ve never known, even if you’ve lived here for years, and you’ll love getting to be up close and personal with antiques like wood-burning stoves from the Bend founder’s home, and a Holsman Car from 1907.

Pilot Butte

The fireworks display takes place from the top of Pilot Butte promptly at 10pm, so you’ll want to make sure you’re in the perfect spot to take them in by then. You can get a lovely view of the display in any area that has sight of Pilot Butte; city parks are especially nice, since you can pop a blanket on the grass to picnic with friends while waiting for the show. If you’re up for it, there are countless open hiking trails to explore before night falls, so you can get an unforgettable view of the show, from a more private area. That’s a pretty great payoff to a long hike.

Bend 4th of July Party

In this quaint and rustic area, you wouldn’t expect its 4th of July to be as much of a blast as it is. Surrounded by the great outdoors, friendly folks, and tasty food wherever you look, head to Bend in 2019 to celebrate the birth of our nation right. How to See the Best of Bend in 3 Days: Bend Attractions

We all know how Bend is full of attractions, and it will take more than one visit to enjoy them all. But sometimes you only have enough time for a long weekend vacation. So, what are you going to do? Well, for one thing, you need a good plan. With so many attractions, you can’t possibly visit them all in your short visit, but you can still enjoy the best the town has to offer and hope to come back again to cover the rest of it! Here are some of the best Bend attractions that draw tourists from all over the country.

Bend Attractions: High Desert Museum

This is a museum dedicated to wildlife, but this is not a regular museum with simple exhibits and some interactive shows; this is 125 acres of land where exhibits cover both indoors and outdoors, and it’s all about desert life and the hardy critters that make the desert their home. These include raptors, otters, porcupines, and reptiles. You can also visit the Miller Family Ranch and Sawmill and get a glimpse of what life used to be like in the area.

Pilot Butte

One way to get a good look of the whole town is to hike up Pilot Butte. It’s good exercise, and once you’ve reached the top you’re met with amazing views. Try to start early to beat the hot sun and also because the views in the early morning are spellbinding. This is a popular activity for both locals and tourists alike. You’re more than likely to meet other hikers along the way and get a chance to make some new friends. If you don’t like to hike, you can still go up the road in a vehicle.

Bike Surrey

When traveling in a group or with your family, you’d usually want to go everywhere together. But instead of taking a cab or public transport, why not hop on a bike surrey? It’s a lot of fun for the whole family—for both those who are pedaling and those sitting at the back and enjoying being shown around comfortably. You can plan your trip to visit the Old Mill District and the Deschutes River where there’s plenty to see and the roads are good for your unique vehicle.

Whether you’re a mom yourself or you want to make your own mom feel special and appreciated on Mother’s Day, Bend has you covered. Check out our guide of family things to do in Bend, Oregon to celebrate Mother’s Day.

Bend Events: Mother’s Day Brunch

McMenamins Old Saint Francis School knows how to celebrate Mother’s Day in style. The annual event is popular among locals and visitors alike. Here you’ll enjoy a sumptuous cuisine that includes biscuits with sausage gravy, maple-glazed ham with Hammerhead sauce, fresh fruit, French toast, specialty salads, eggs, and a selection of desserts. The event starts as early as 9 am and concludes at about 2pm. But the earlier you go the better since you get to enjoy the whole day there. Other places that offer a special brunch on Mother’s Day include Brasada Ranch, Pronghorn Resort, Sunriver Resort, and Tetherow Resort.

Bend Ale Trail

A brunch sounds like a great way to entertain your mom, but what if mom isn’t so much into food as she is craft beer? In that case, you should take her to the Bend Ale Trail. Along the way, you can get her a beer-themed gift to start the day on a positive note. We suggest getting her a Hydro Flask or DrinkTanks growler. A pair of hop-inspired earrings would also be a fitting gift on this day. You can also plan a family-friendly hike or go on a picnic.

Dog Daze

If your baby has four legs and wags its tail, then you’ll love the Dog Daze. The annual event is held in downtown Bend from 11 am till 3 pm. Riverside Animal Hospital sponsors this event at Mirror Pond Plaza. There are pet-themed booths and animals up for adoption. Get your dog passport and go about town collecting paw print stamps. Collect as many stamps as you can and by 3 pm head back to the Dog Daze event for a chance to win prizes.

There are a lot of Bend events that lined up to celebrate Mother’s Day. For more ideas to make mom feel appreciated, call us today!
